Foods and Menu
We like children to try different foods and hope that eating
alongside staff and other children will encourage this
Our Daily eating Plan
Breakfast
Breakfast is offered from 7:30am-8:30am. Children can either have breakfast at home or at Nursery.
Lunch
A hot lunch is provided by Slice of Pie who supply many other nurseries and schools. They cater for a range of diets, and we use colour coded placemats to identify these diets when the children eat. The children sit down and eat with staff at 11:30am. We encourage the children to try different foods and hope that eating alongside other children will support this.
Tea
A hot tea is provided by Slice of Pie who supply many other nurseries and schools.
Snack
Fruit and/or breadsticks etc along with a drink of milk or water will be offered during both morning and afternoon sessions, and throughout the day children can always help themselves to a drink of water at our mini snack bar.
Allergy Information
At Golden Owls Day Nursery we cater for a range of different dietary requirements/needs including vegetarians, dairy and gluten free diets and individual food allergies. We discuss each individual child’s requirements during the application/settling in process and work with you to ensure that your child’s dietary needs can be met as smoothly as possible. None of our food contains nuts, so the children should never be exposed to or eat nuts whilst at nursery as this is common allergy in young children and often a concern to parents.
